My Hyderabad Trip-Part 1
Have you gone to a city in your country which doesn't feel like part of your country at all?
After a long 10 hour journey from Bangalore, We reached Hyderabad late night at 1:30 AM. We woke up on a Sunday morning after an extremely fatigue ride. After a scrumptious south Indian breakfast, We walked to the metro station which was just 1 km away from our hotel. Walking through the roads of Hyderabad, I was wondering to myself whether this was really India or somewhere in a foreign country, the roads were extremely clean and very wide. It was way better than Bangalore which I used to think was the best city in India. In cities like Bangalore and Chennai, I needed both my eyes to see half of the train but here, I could see all the four compartments with just half my eye. First we went on the metro to MG Road and then caught an auto to the Salar Jung Museum. The museum was mainly about Indian freedom fighters and had a huge collection of the toys the Nawabs owned. I was surprised by how many foreign toys were there as there were many British ,French and Japanese toys and many army toys. Maybe he might have used these army toys to strategize wars. I also was jealous about how lucky he was to have uncles in many countries who kept sending him toys. There was so many that it must have needed more than 1 ship to transport them all back to India. The toy which fascinated me the most was the remote control car and remote control train set. They were of very good quality and worked like the ones that do nowadays. After this we went to Charminar. We climbed the spooky stairs up to Hyderabad's most iconic monument and the view was excellent. I enjoyed the view a lot even despite my acrophobia. When we went down we had Hyderabadi biscuits in a bakery called Nimrah. The biscuits were palatable as they were served hot and melted in your mouth with each crunchy bite. I also had a sweet Bun Maska with some Irani chai. They went together very well and each bite was heaven. After this we went back to our room as the sun had sucked our energy out of us. Later in the afternoon, we went to a very ambient restaurant called Nani's. How could I leave Hyderabad without tasting its world class biriyani ?We had some mouth watering Hyderabadi Biriyani and after the first bite I knew it was my new favorite dish(Congratulations Hyderabadi Biriyani, you have been added to Siddharth's list of great food). In the evening, we went to Golconda fort which had lots of historical importance. We hiked all the way to the top and we could see the view of the whole of Hyderabad. It was an one of a kind scenery and I stared at its beauty for a long time. Later, we went down and saw a laser show about the history of the Golconda fort. It was very informational and I learnt a lot. After this we returned to our hotel and had a good night's rest.
