Book Review of Endling-The Last

 Book Review of ENDLING-THE LAST

The Endling is a book about Byx , a Dairne which is a rare dog like species hunted extensively by humans for its fur and held captive for its truth telling skills in the kingdom of Nedarra. The Dairnes had been hunted for the past few years and Byx's pack had been the only pack of dairnes left. Their pack had wanted to migrate in search of other packs. The day before the great migration, Byx took a walk down the stream and saw Tobble, a Wobbyk which is a species like a fennec fox, drowning. She immediately dived in to help him and saved him. While they were going back to her pack, they saw a poacher with a guide and immediately hid. The guide noticed them but did not tell the poachers. When they went back to her pack, they found that all Dairnes had been killed by Murdano's (the cruel king of Nedarra)men. Byx was an Endling. Read the book to find what happens next.

This was a very touching book for me as it showed how human activities and what we do for our own benefit affect other creatures. It also envisaged the perspective of an animal which was the last of its kind. This also intimated the selfishness of humans and also how we are dominant just because of our brains and how other species would dominate over us if they were smart and had better thinking capabilities. It also shows our thirst for power and to what extent we go for it.
