BOOK REVIEW OF MAX IN THE HOUSE OF SPIES
Max in the house of spies is a book about an intrepid boy named Max Abraham Bretzfeld who is from Germany. Max is forced to leave his parents and move to Britain on the Kindertransport as he was Jewish and had the risk of being affected by the Holocaust. Max is accompanied by two little men on his shoulders named Berg and Stein whom only Max can see and hear. Even though Max is being taken to safety he doesn't want to leave his parents in Germany. In Britain, Max stays with a Jewish family, The Montagus. Max goes to school with the Montagu children and both Max and the children are bullied for being Jewish. Max is also bullied because of his poor English and is accused of being a Nazi spy. Eventually, Max confronts the bullies and he is never harmed again. As time goes on a year passes and Max comes to know that some of the members of the Montagu family are part of the Naval intelligence. When Uncle Ivor and Mr. Stuart have a meeting with Admiral John Godfrey and Max volunteers to go as a spy for the British to Germany. READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT.
Max In The House Of Spies is one of the most spectacular books I have ever read. I love books involving lots of action and adventure in the aspect of a kid as when I was even younger I always dreamed of being a spy and just reading books like that would make me imagine myself as a side character in the book and would give me the feeling like I spied along with the main character. So next, Max In The House Of Spies can be compared to my favorite book series, Alex Rider. It was similar in many aspects as they both were young, spied for the UK and lived with a guardian who was not their real parent. My favorite part in the book was when Max gives away Dr.Brown. The only problem I had in the book was that it ended in a towering cliffhanger and I was pretty frustrated when I found out that the sequel to the book is not coming until next year. I could conclude by saying that Max In The House Of Spies has found a place in my list of Best Books Ever.
