World Forest Day

Image
The Forest Rises(A Short Story For World Forest Day) I was trekking in the Western Ghats.Suddenly,I heard a voice which reminded me of Treebeard’s from the Lord Of The Rings.I shouted, “Who are you?” The voice replied, “I’m a Tirunelveli redwood. Is today an auspicious day? Humans are planting trees so much like they have been possessed.” I replied, “Today is World Forest Day”.The tree replied, “You humans are more egregiously atrocious than I expected. So ironic! Talking about saving  but you keep deforesting for your own purpose and that will be your end. You plant trees one day out of 365 days, the rest you humans will be busy destroying us. Millions of my family members died in Los Angeles because of humans. This even causes the death of many animals. You blame it on natural causes but never realize that you are the reason.” I woke up realizing it was a dream. A tree had talked to me right before world forest day.Why can’t nature and forest service be made compulsory like military ...

Where the River Takes Us Where the River Takes Us is an emotional book by Lesley Parr which talks about a beast. There is a reward of money for whoever gets a photograph of the beast. But for Jason, an orphan, it’s not just a quest with his friends but a way for him and his brother,Richie, to stay together. They don't have enough money and that's the only way Jason and Richie can live with each other.Jason sets off on a journey with his 3 friend Tam, Jinx and Catrin following the river north to photograph the beast. First I want to start by saying, I didn't want to read the book as the title made it sound like a poem but I can tell you that it changed my mind. It was a wonderfully written book and didn't seem like a fantasy so I got that little connection with the character as it was very relatable because of his connection with his friends and how they manage to get themselves into trouble while having fun. His connection with his brother was extremely realistic and how...
