Andaman(A Perfect Destination):Part 2:Neil-Day 1

 Andaman(A Perfect Destination):Part 2:Neil

Day 1-The Best Beach Ever?

Post-catching the ferry after a sentimental goodbye to Havelock, we reached Neil Island within 45 minutes. We got down on a bridge in the sea leading to the mainland. When I stared down at the beach , the water was so clear that I saw 25% of the fishes , I'd seen at the Scuba Dive from the surface.

We took an auto to our Resort. The Break Water resort had private access to the beach which I found very cool.We couldn't swim due to the sharp dead corals which prove risky, but the view was good.A small introduction to Neil Island,it has a population of 6000 people. It is one of the most safest places in India with not a single house or hotel having a compound wall. So safe that shop owners didn't lock anything but just closed the shop door.
We didn't even have to lock cycle anywhere but just park wherever we want.So if you are looking for inner peace and quietness Neil is the best place for you to visit. It was so calm that if you were a tortoise or a sloth and needed to cross the road, you could take your own time(even though Andaman doesn't have these creatures).Vehicles crossed your path about once an hour. But,if you are looking for a bustling urban place, Neil is not the location for you to be.We had rented a cycle as I thought it would be really fun to cycle around near some beaches. The cycling was a wonderful exercise and I had amazing village vibes. It felt really nice to cycle around in a village you had no clue about and land up in a picturesque beach out of the blue.

After a heavy lunch, we went to Bharatpur beach. The water was crystal clear, pristine blue with sparkling white sand and a lush green background. It was shady and you can rent a mat to chill there. The beach was quiet with just the splashing sound of the waves.Usually you can see only the horizon in beaches but in Bharatpur you could see other Islands which was a beauty of its own. It came up only till your chest even after you went 400 meters in so we kept walking in as far as we could. Me and my parents were joking about the fact that we could have walked in the water from Havelock to Neil instead of taking the ferry. Luckily, I had brought my snorkeling kit and we saw lots of coral and fishes in the beach. One setback was that, the surface of the ground was filled with corals which lead to me pestering my parents to lift me as I didn't want to be a wicked devil who trampled homes of fishes with my bare legs. The beach was slightly better than Kalapathar which I had believed till now was the best beach in the world. We went on a Jet-Ski which was a bit better than the one at Elephant Beach. We also went on a banana boat ride but that was not as fun as the one in Elephant Beach.

After all this bathing we started cycling towards a beautiful geographical formation, The Natural Bridges. The bridges felt like they were out of my HP laptop wallpaper.Despite being called a bridge,it was a cove.Even though it was scenic, the beaches had weathered me like they weather rocks and I was extremely exhausted by all the fun I had in the beaches. I took a couple of photos there and we left back to our room.

We had ordered an Israeli platter back at our room but it turned out to be Pita Bread and Hummus .The Pita Bread was actually a mix of Pita bread and Roti but extremely scrumptious. We also had Roti and Panner and the Roti's fluffiness was the best ever. Today was exhausting but I wasn't going to let it affect tomorrow.
