Is your nation  part of G20?Here is all you need to know about it.The G20 is a global organisation which works to create economic stabilities around the world,financial issues and global issues like climate change.The formation leads back to 26 september 1999 formed by G7.The countries meet every year in the presidency country to discuss solutions for financial problems and climate change and come up with schemes,pacts and policies to solve them.The presidency country is the nation which hosts the summits of the year.It is chose through  formed presidency calendar by the G20.The Group of G20 (G20) comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States along with the European Union.The current G20 leaders include Alberto Fernandez,Anthony Albanese,Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva,Justin Trudeau,Xi JinPing,Emmanuel Macron,Olaf Scholz,Narendra Modi,Joko Widodo,Giorgia Meloni,Fumio Kishida,Andrés Manuel López Obrador,Vladmir Putin,Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud,Cyril Ramaphosa,Yoon Souk Yeol,Recep Tayyip Erdoğan,Rishi Sunak,Joe Biden,Azali Assoumini and Moussa Faki,Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen.

The G20 members are the top 20 economic powers in the wealth.They are chosen based on their wealth and global influence.These countries are so wealthy that they cover up around 85% of the world’s GDP.


Indian Presidency

India earned it’s G20 presidency from Indonesia on 1st december 2022.India strongly believes in One Earth,One Family,One Future as the theme for the year 2023’s summit.It proclaims that even despite our geographic and cultural differences,we all live in one world and we have to live in harmony and contribute to creating a future for ourselves.It prioritises on the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals,the green development pact which focuses on climatic finance,Technology and digital public infrastructure and most importantly women empowerment and gender equality for all.Narendra Modi also added the African union in G20.“We have a vision of inclusiveness and with that vision, we have invited the African Union to become permanent members of the G20,” Modi said.Modi also spoke in the Delhi declaration about the Russia- Ukraine war and softened the west’s and NATO’s ideas against the war.India has achieved to convince all the countries to refrain from the use of force for territorial acquisition and deemed the use or threat of nuclear weapons as unacceptable.According to the G20 presidency calendar,the next G20 summits will be hosted by Brazil.
