 History of Israel

In 1700 Bc when 3 Jewish men settled in a region in the Middle East after being asked by god.The region was later called Israel.It was ruled by famous kings in the years following 1000 BC such as King Saul,King David who made Jerusalem the capital and King Solomon who built the first temple in Jerusalem.It was then split into The Kingdom of Israel in the North and the Kingdom of Judah in the south after the death of King Solomon.There were many conquests that followed by the Romans, who changed Judah’s name to Palestine,the Ottoman Empire,Great Britain and France.All these conquests resulted in a religious diversity across the country.After the World War I Britain and France ruled Israel and Palestine.During World War II many Jews shifted to Europe and returned to Israel after the war in a small population as most of them were killed by the Holocaust 1947 the region was divided into Israel and Palestine by the United Nations.Later in 1948,The Arabs declared war on Israel but the war resulted in Israel conquering more land, the Gaza Strip was given to Egypt and Jordan controlled a certain area of the land.In 1967 another war broke out between Israel and it’s Muslim neighbours.It lasted for 6 days and resulted in an Israeli victory.This is the brief history of Israel.
