Book Review of Wonder by Raquel Jaramillo Palacio

Summary-August is a 10 year-old boy with mandibulofacial Dystosis and Treacher Collins Syndrome. Wonder is a book about his life from his  point of view and the point of view of his school friends, his sister, his sister's boyfriend and her friend. The book starts by introducing August Pullman and him starting school. At school, he is bullied, teased and called many different names like orc because of his face. This story talks about his first school year and how he gets through it from being a kid who was hated by everyone in the school except a couple of people to a kid famous for standing up and being mentally strong.

My favorite character-My favorite character was Auggie as he was very positive. He had the mindset that he was normal and was very brave. This is a line from the book which I liked very much.

"I know I'm not an ordinary ten-year-old kid. I mean, sure, I do ordinary things. I eat ice cream. I ride my bike. I play ball. I have an Xbox. Stuff that makes me ordinary, I guess. And I feel ordinary inside. But I know ordinary kids don't make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. I know ordinary kids don't get stared at wherever they go."
— August Pullman

He was very intelligent and excelled in his studies. I was inspired by his mental strength

My Favorite Scene-My favorite scene was when their school went to a trip with another school and Auggie was bullied by a kid from that school and his hearing aids were stolen but some people in his school stood up for him and helped him from the bullies.

My View-This book was one of the best books I've ever read . I just loved the book as it was written from different point of views and it was nice to read how many people felt during situations with August Pullman. The author took such a serious story in a light-hearted manner and positive manner that it was fun to read and not sad. It was coincidence that I read impact full books this month like Friend or Foe, Kensuke's Kingdom, The 1000 year old boy, Tiger Boy or The brown girl dreaming but this was one step ahead as it made me understand that no matter how bad a situation is you should be positive.
