Andaman(A Perfect Destination):Part 1:Havelock

Day-2:Trek To Play

I woke up at 6:30 in the morning wondering why I was awake so early in my house but then suddenly a jolt of realization rushed through me reminding me that I was in Havelock, one of Andaman's most popular tourist destinations. We were going to the Elephant Beach today for water sports. We parked our bike near the start point of the trek to the beach and hired a guide as the forest trek was really confusing to make your way through and very easy to get lost.So there are two ways to get to Elephant Beach, one is through the trek and the other is through the speed boat. But me being a nature lover immediately opted for the forest trek.

This was one of the most unique treks I have ever completed.Let me tell you why.The landscape transcends multiple times so beautifully.Usually the maximum the landscape change extends to  a forest then a waterfall but this one was special. We crossed a Rainforest, then a swamp, then a mangrove forest to reach the beach. We went all the way crossing tall trees, bridges and a beautiful natural root step formation when we had to cross a swamp. Initially I was very scared about the swamp but then I managed to get in.It didn't feel like a swamp but when my dad picked up a sea snail, I was whining and shrieking the rest of the way. But, when we got to the beach it was the most scenic view I'd ever seen.First till a short distance there was muddy water, then it was pristine crystal clear turquoise water then it was just blue water.

The waves were even and formed one clean sheet through the whole beach looked like a light blue and greenish blanket thrown upon it while it was sleeping. First, I went aboard a Jet-Ski. Well, I asked the rider whether I could drive it , he said no but he took me on a really fast ride and it was epic. Next we went aboard a banana boat.A ridiculously robust rider was standing in front of us.A Motorboat pulled us to the part where the water was really deep and our rider started jumping around and pouncing making the banana boat move like crazy. It was so bumpy that it felt worse than Indian roads which you can completely agree are the bumpiest roads in the world. We were going so fast and I felt like I was flying.I was grinning and laughing as I was filled with the joy of the experience. The rider put his leg down in the water to let small droplets splash on us in a clear manner. He was steering it lot to the sides. When we reached about 7 feet depth, the rider turned the banana boat upside down making us fall in the water. We swum back to shore and this was my favorite water ride yet. After these we decided to go on a spinning inflated octopus ride which was not that great compared to the other rides but pretty exciting all the same. After these we ate a scrumptious and extremely flavourful paper cone of Bhel Puri. Then we ate Papdi Chaat which was completely different from the one I always eat but was still extremely delicious. We usually put curd in Papdi Chaat and I was surprised to see that Papdi Chaat could be like this.Andaman doesn't have a traditional or state dish so I wholeheartedly feel, the Andamanese Papdi Chaat should be the traditional dish of the archipelago.  After this we started the trek back when low tide struck. The swamp was almost completely dry and I was extremely happy about it in contrast to my parents who had enjoyed the swampy experience even more.Furthermore, we went to another resort called Sea Shell which had a marine trail course.
There we learnt lots about marine life and its adaptations. I will post another blog about all that I learnt which you guys can read about. But, the experience was immersive, informative and transformative to my general disgust of marine life. We returned to our room, exhausted after our trek back but tomorrow was going to be a different and amazing experience. Little did I know that was going to become my favourite part of the trip.
