Book Review Of The Maze Runner By James Dashner

Book Review Of The Maze Runner By James Dashner

Summary
When Thomas wakes up in the lift, all he can remember is his name. He doesn't know anything else about where he is or who he is. He is surrounded by many boys who welcome him to the Glade. He discovers that the Glade is a safe area in the middle of a dangerous maze but no one has been able to get out of the maze. The boys in the Glade try everyday but fail. Some have even died. Thomas also discovers that the boys are running a sort of civilization of their own inside the Glade from the materials that they receive through the lift once a month with a new member coming. All of the boys were like Thomas and couldn't remember anything except their name. Thomas starts working in the Glade and earns his way up as a runner when he saves one of the leaders in the Glade from the horrors in the maze. But when a girl comes into the maze, it changes everything. Her name is Teresa and with her the supplies come with a note that says,"She is the last one. EVER". Now it is up to Thomas and the Gladers to find their escape out of the maze. Will they survive or die in the maze? Read the book to find out.
My Opinion
The Maze Runner is by far one of the best book series I've ever read. I say this a lot about many books but these stands out right there alongside Alex Rider. The book was amazing and compelled you to urge yourself to read even when you couldn't. The post-apocalyptic setting(which you will discover in the later books) was so realistic and made you wonder whether earth would become like that one day. It was action packed and a very fast paced story that is lovely for everyone in the world. If you are sitting here reading my blog now instead of the book do yourself a favour and run to the nearest library or bookstore to you.
