Review of Stranger Things 1

Its not regularly that I write about movies or series in my blog but only those ones which are worth writing about. Stranger Things is  my favourite series despite watching other amazing series like Young Sheldon, Thai Cave Rescue, etc. This is the review of Season 1 and I'll write about the other seasons in upcoming blogs.Stranger Things is a sci-fi series about a small town in the United States.

In the 1980s in Indiana, a small group of children living in the dull town of Hawkins where nothing ever happens, come across a strange mystery.  Out of 4 boys Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will, Will goes missing after a monster breaks out of Hawkins Lab. Only a few people working in Hawkins Lab know about this monster. After Will goes missing, everyone thinks he's dead but Dustin, Lucas and Mike stumble upon a girl named Eleven who has Psychic powers, the ability to move things with her mind. She tells them about how she opened the upside down after making contact with the monster while spying on the Soviets with her abilities in a sensory deprivation tank.The Upside Down is another dimension that is exactly like our world but is filed with monsters and does not have humans. Meanwhile when Mike's sister, Nancy goes with her friend Barbara to a party in her boyfriend Steve's house. When Barbara is alone by the pool, the monster snatches her. Meanwhile a jealous Will's brother, Jonathan, takes photos of the party, the monster is seen in the corner of one developed photo. This confirms the existence of the Demogorgon. When Nancy goes back the next day to find Barbara, she sees the Demogorgon in the woods. Mike, Dustin and Lucas search for Will meanwhile Jonathan and Nancy try to find the Demogorgon. On the other hand, Will's single mother, Joyce is also looking for Will when Will communicates with her through the lights from the Upside Down. The Demogorgon also comes out of the wall in Joyce's house twice or thrice. Now they must all work together along with local Sheriff Jim Hopper who is working on this disappearances to save Will and fight the monster. They also have the powers of Eleven who was currently hiding in Mike's house. Can Eleven find Will ? Is Barbara alive? Is Will alive? And most of all is this the end of their worries? I started watching Stranger Things only after I found out Season 5 is coming in a few months. I just finished Season 4 and it is honestly the best series ever. It is very intense and a little scary but keeps the readers on the edge of their seat every passing minute. It is probably the most addictive series I've ever watched. But first things first, you must be thinking this sounds like a childish story from Disney, like it has monsters and sounds like a fairy tale and that's exactly what I thought. If you were thinking that, you couldn't possibly be more wrong in your whole life. It is gripping, thrilling but it is also humorous. It's kind of like good Lemonade with exact amount if salt, sugar, water and lime but with fear, humour, adventure and thrilling,gripping scenes. By the way, In season 1, my favourite character was Dustin, like come on who wouldn't agree Dustin to be the best character in season 1 but from Season 2 , my favourite character became Steve. At this point you may think I'm overrating the series and praising it too much but you just gotta watch it for yourself and I would bet a million dollars(if I earn that much when I grow up) that you will love this series and finish upto Season 4 before Season 5 comes out.
