Achilles:Back To The Future

It was the tenth year of the Trojan War. Achilles had killed Hector but was suffering from a terrible injury on his way back. No one except Achilles knew that he had an identical twin in the armed forces. His twin's name was Alexios. Alexios decided to pretend to be Achilles as no one in the army knew about Achilles's bruise, and Alexios wanted to boost the army's morale. If they found out Achilles wasn't fighting, the war was as good as lost. Achilles hid on one of the nearby islands. Alexios fought bravely but was shot by Paris. Achilles found this out as he had told one of his most trusted soldiers to give him messages of the war without telling anyone about him. Achilles was flabbergasted upon hearing this news and went into a deep hibernation where he saw a dream in which the gods told him that a threat was coming, and he had to prepare for the greatest fight ever. They also showed him images of a modern world, and he was surprised by how sophisticated the world had...

Monsoon Diary Entry

Lately, I have been researching about the southwest monsoon and I decided to give you guys my information in the form of a diary entry. Monsoon Diary Entry I am the southwest monsoon wind.As my name suggests, I originate in the southwest part of India. I originate from the Arabian Sea.Land heats up faster than water. When the land near the Arabian Sea heats up , it causes the heat to spread making the air around it warm. The warm air rises up as warm air is lighter than cold air. Temperature decreases with altitude. When the warm air rises up, it starts becoming colder and denser. Meanwhile, the land starts getting filled up with the moist sea air as the land has lesser pressure. The warm air which went upward to cool down comes back down to the sea as rain. This cycle keeps repeating multiple times. You might think that the water might keep going back to the sea but that is where I come in. I blow the clouds towards India causing rain all the way to the Himalayas. After that my best fr...

Book Review of 'The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street

Image
The Vanderbeekers of 141st Street is a book by Karina Yan Glaser. It is five days before Christmas and the Landlord of the Vanderbeekers has not renewed their lease. The Vanderbeeker Kids have only five days to persuade their landlord the Beiderman to let them stay in their cosy and marvelous home. Will they be able to persuade him? Will he renew their rental agreement lease? Will Operation Beiderman succeed? Read the book to find out. This book was very light hearted and had humorous adventure. The connection between the children and their house is an unbreakable one and I could relate a lot as I can never imagine moving out of my beautiful little home. I loved the bond between the 5 siblings as I have similar bonds with my 4 other cousins. I also thoroughly enjoyed the way they treated the situation like an Intelligence Agency Operation as it made the book more exciting and put me at the edge of my seat. I also liked the way two of the siblings in the Vanderbeekers family fought...

Book Review of 'The Monkey Who Fell From The Future' by Ross Welford

Image
The year is 2425 and is centuries after an asteroid collision struck the Earth. Meanwhile, In the present day, Thomas Reeve and his prodigy cousin Kylie Woollagong create the time tablet. Suddenly, it malfunctions when they are advertising it on television. A girl from the named Ocean Mooney falls into the present with her monkey when the timelines of the future and the present collide and Kylie and Thomas fall into the future. They do not find the future to be like they expected it to be. They have only 24 hours to get back and save the future of humanity as they are the only ones from the present who have learnt the horrible catastrophe that will fall upon Earth in the future.. I loved the book and I thought this was actually a very unique aspect to look at the future. Everyone thinks that the future will be modern but this novel explored the possibility of the future being the opposite of what everyone thinks it will be. It was also emotional as travelling through time made the bond...
